The Pyramids of Florence (Postcard)

This photograph was taken in Florence, Italy. What appears to be a pyramid inspired by ancient Egyptian architecture is, in fact, an ice house that was build in 1795. Its dense walls provided ice with a cold storage area during the summer months so that the people of Florence could enjoy gelato and sorbetto year round!
