living life in the liminal
Hello, I'm Emmylou.
For as long as I can remember, I've had an insatiable desire to simply learn and create. Not to merely grow as an individual and as an artist, but to fully blossom into the person I'm meant to be (even if I'm still figuring that part out).
Fortunately, I've had the privilege of working with various mediums throughout my journey in the art community—ranging from recycled fiber to film. The respect and adoration I feel for all types of creation knows no bounds, but photography and drawing have always remained a consistent outlet for my art.
What inspires me to create has always come from nature and the longing that I feel to capture her beauty. In turn, my photography often revolves around open landscapes that are frequently juxtaposed with architecture, motion, or symbols.
I love to find balance & symmetry in this often asymmetrical world.

I received my bachelor's from Rutgers University in Childhood Studies & Psychology, with a heavy focus on Early Childhood Education and Studio Art. Since then, I've been working on the East Coast as an independent artist and private caretaker who writes in her downtime.
